Tell us about your business journey

When my parents gave me access to the internet I decided to do something meaningful with it.
That is when I learnt about the term Freelancing.
I learnt that as a Content Writer I could make money from the comfort of my home.
And I became one of the first Freelancers in India.
I started with 50 cents/500 words and in a short time I started getting $5/500 words.
I could delegate work. I built a team of writers across the world.
I wrote content for more than 2000 websites.
And then in the year 2015 I wrote my first Novel.
I then set up my own Publication to help aspiring writers.

What motivated you to become a Skillpreneur?

I realized that this is the best way to turn passion into profession and I could make it work, there wouldn't be anything like it.

I was making a decent amount money for an 18 year should. Not just for myself but also for others.

Limitlessness.
You never know how far creativity & Innovation can go. It is exciting to explore possibilities.
It allows me to execute ideas, meet interesting people, learn the insights of enterprising.

5

Share any interesting experience after becoming a Skillpreneur.

I got to meet a lot of established and famous people from the entertainment (film & television) & education industry.
I was overwhelmed to be able to spend time with them.
I always told them how excited and thrilled I am and they told me the feeling is mutual.
They are equally grateful to meeting me as I am also an Author and Entrepreneur.
I get to hear a lot of things from people.
That is when I realized I am doing something worth mentioning & noticing.

6

What makes your business unique?

We aren't trying to make profits out of Authors challenges as everyone else out there is.
We want to help artists.
It is important for us that the art and artist lives.

7

What Drives You to Keep Going When It's Really Tough?

Enterprising is not easy. True but that does not make it impossible. No lock has been made without a key.
When confronted with tough times you need to look for solutions.
There is a way out of everything and you need to trust the process.

8

What are some of the mistakes you wished you could've avoided?

Overconfidence. It is easy to get excited and get carried away when you are doing something fascinating.
But I have realized that I do not set the rules or dictate the terms.
The game should be played as it needs to be played and wait for my turn to establish dominance.

9

How do you achieve work-life balance?

Be being organized and planning things.
I give both equal importance but I don't mix the two.
Work hard & Party harder.

10

What advice would you give someone who is interested in starting their own business?

Sometimes the tides turn quickly sometimes they don't.
You need to be observant and watchful.
You need to analyze when you need to act and when to need to let go or opt out.
Don't compromise with the cause no matter how difficult going ahead is.
Its the purpose that is important more than the profits.
